How to make VDO Night Series into Lambo gauges

After the big effort of buildig the gauges below I realized that we need a really cool way to mount them.  The file below shows how to mount the gauges.

Basically it takes a large effort to disassemble the gauges.  You need to do the following:

 

Gauge disassembly:

• Pry off the black bezels
• Carefully remove the glass which is glued
• unbolt the electronics from the back of the gauge faceplate
• Very carefully remove the gauge needle using a special tool I made.
• Using a razor knife, remove the existing gauge faceplate.
• Make the face plates out of acrylic and using plastic decals made, glue them to the acrylic templates.
• Make notches in the gauge faces for the mounting points.
• Attach the new faceplate to the electronics.
• Remount into the retaining cup of the gauge.
• Carefully remount the glass and apply two dots of glue to prevent the face plate from falling off.
• Reassemble the bezel onto the gauge.
